Our global network of top\-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries\. **Job Summary** REPORTS TO: UK Rail Safety Coordinator INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: All members of the Rail team \- Survey Section, Design Section, Project Management EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: RISQS, Suppliers and clients JOB DESCRIPTION The Rail Assistant will be an integral part of the rail team and will work closely with all members of the rail team, collating, scanning, recording, inputting, filing all administrative and technical \(survey, design and project\) information\. Undertake duties as directed by UK Rail Safety Coordinator\. Assist with the day to day progress of the projects\. Ensure a quality product that meets or exceeds client specification is delivered\. Assist the UK Rail safety coordinator with ensuring that the requirements of all relevant health and safety, environmental, quality and standards are met\. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide support when necessary collating information and preparing submission documents within the practice area • Co\-ordinate and keep up to date rail team diary • Arrange and co\-ordinate meetings, ensure required facilities & equipment are available • Make travel and accommodation arrangements for the department \(including vehicle hire\) • Monitor holidays taken by staff • Process purchase orders • Produce site packs documentation\(scanning and printing\) • Scanning of project data and paperwork\. • Input, save and file all survey, design and project data\. • Open and distribute incoming mail and faxes Assist the UK Rail Safety Coordinator with:\- • Ensure that the Sentinel database is current with the personnel that Rail group is sponsoring\. • pre\-employment D&A testing has been carried out prior to recruitment of new candidates in accordance with NR/SP/OHS/00121 • medical assessments are monitored via the Sentinel NCCA database and the Rail group matrix, and that they are valid and up to date for all staff\. • Unannounced random drugs & alcohol testing is completed on an annual basis in accordance with NR/SP/OHS/00118 • Hours worked by Rail staff are monitored on a monthly basis\. • Monitoring hours worked has been carried out in accordance with the Rail group exceeding and Monitoring of working shifts and hours • Sufficient employees hold the necessary First aid certification to cover the requirements of the company activities\. • Self medical certificates are provided for Track Visitor permits and that the TVP’s are issued in accordance with NR/L2/OHS/020 **Minimum Requirements** • Ability to use own initiative • Be competent in organisation skills • Good communication skills both written and verbal • Conversant with MS Office and Excel and have good general computer skills **Preferred Qualifications** GCSE and Above Qualifications **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
