Our global network of top\-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries\. **Job Summary** Our Transportation team have a vacancy for a Traffic Management Technician with experience in the delivery of traffic management, traffic engineering, local transport and urban design/streetscape schemes in the Traffic and Local Roads team in our Nottingham office\. The Traffic and Local Roads team provides concept and preliminary design, network modelling, detailed design, project delivery and construction management services on a wide range of projects for local authorities and contractors plus supports other AECOM business lines where their projects have a specialised traffic and highways interface\. The successful candidate will be joining one of the UKs largest and longest established traffic teams with a strong track record for delivery, innovation and quality in all areas of traffic management and engineering\. AECOM have had recent success in re\-winning the Midlands Highways Alliance \(MHA\) professional services contract\. Through this contract we provide planning, engineering and construction management services to 14 No\. local authorities within the Midlands and central core of England including: •  Derby City Council •  Derbyshire County Council •  Leicester City Council •  Leicestershire County Council •  Nottingham City Council •  Nottinghamshire County Council •  Milton Keynes Council •  Oxfordshire County Council •  Peterborough City Council •  Rutland County Council •  Sandwell MBC •  Staffordshire County Council •  Stoke City Council •  Wolverhampton City Council In joining us in Nottingham you will be part of a growing team that is actively involved in the delivery of a broad range of exciting traffic management projects to both the MHA and a range of other local and national clients\. Example projects include: •  King Richard III Wayfinding \- updates to the existing pedestrian wayfinding signage in Leicester City Centre to incorporate additional direction information to the King Richard III Visitor Centre in time for the opening of the centre and the re\-internment in Leicester Cathedral\. •  Manchester Airport Group \- review of the existing Traffic Regulation Orders in and around Manchester Airport to confirm that the existing loading, waiting and parking restrictions are accurate and enforceable\. •  TRO Improvements Programme \- as part of the Midlands Highways Alliance framework the traffic team partner with the Nottinghamshire County Council Improvements Team to deliver a wide range of Traffic Regulation Orders including speed limits, environmental weight restrictions, residents parking schemes, as well as general waiting, loading and parking restrictions\. In addition to delivering work within the local office the role will occasionally involve working with other AECOM teams in the UK and Ireland\. We are therefore seeking candidates who are able to work flexibly across other AECOM offices as projects dictate to support the wider business\. Further, the role offers opportunities to work in AECOM’s wider UK European, Middle East, India and Africa regions\. Key Responsibilities •  Be aware of and personally comply with AECOM’s Health & Safety polices and procedures\. Prepare and maintain a personal safety plan\. •  Prepare data, reports and design calculations for checking and approval\. •  Preparation of design drawings using CAD\. •  Application of national and local standards and guidelines in the preparation of scheme designs\. •  Application of software packages to support design activities\. •  Ensure technical content and quality of output produced is in line with the project brief including adherence to agreed time inputs and timescales\. •  Take personal responsibility for the quality of work outputs adhering to AECOM quality systems and processes\. •  Take an active role in personal development including attainment of professional qualifications \(e\.g\. EngTech, IEng etc\.\.\)\. •  Undertake training as agreed with your line manager and maintain personal training and Continued Professional Development \(CPD\) records\. •  Keep up to date with current best practice, techniques and innovation\. •  Support senior staff members and management team within Traffic and Local Roads team\. •  Present a professional image and appearance internally and to customers, stakeholders and third parties including members of the public\. **Minimum Requirements** You will have: •  ideally a relevant HND or degree in engineering or related discipline \(e\.g\. sciences\) •  a keen interest in developing a career in traffic management and engineering\. •  demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas: o  traffic engineering/management design, o  cycling and walking design, o  bus priority and BRT, o  traffic signing and wayfinding\. o  Traffic Regulation Orders and parking, •  understanding and experience in the following areas: o  preliminary and detailed design of traffic management schemes o  application of relevant design standards including good working knowledge of Traffic Signs Manual, Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions, DMRB o  preparation of data, reports and design calculations for checking and approval\. o  preparation of design drawings using CAD\. o  application of design software \(e\.g\. KeySIGN, AutoCAD etc\.\.\) •  good written and oral communication skills\. •  understanding of Health & Safety matters related to the design of traffic management and engineering schemes\. **Preferred Qualifications** You will be ideally qualified to HND level with experience in the development of traffic management schemes, traffic regulation orders, traffic signing and road marking, preparation of CAD drawings and general technical support in a traffic management and engineering environment\.
