AECOM’s Planning \+ Economics is one of the leading consultancy teams in the UK working on economics and development, with high profile projects including: High Speed 2; Crossrail 2; industrial land research for the GLA; Anglesey Energy Island framework; business plans for higher education institutions; a wider range of development frameworks for mixed use and infrastructure schemes; and international work\.
We are looking for a person to join our team to play a key role in developing and building on our work\. **Based London, Bristol, Basingstoke or Birmingham \(other locations are also possible subject to discussion\)**
1\. Responsible as part of the Planning \+ Economics team at AECOM for the winning and delivery of significant projects in the UK and overseas covering:
+ Business planning and feasibility studies
+ Economic and socio\-economic impact assessments of infrastructure and development schemes \(e\.g\. including use of WebTAG in appraisal of transport schemes\)
+ Regeneration strategies and local economic development and sectoral strategies
+ Property market research and modelling
+ Evaluations\.
It would also be helpful to have knowledge and experience of work on: planning policy research \(e\.g\. employment land, strategic infrastructure\); planning strategies; and development frameworks\.
2\. Responsible and accountable to a Project Director or Technical Director for the technical delivery of projects, or undertaking a significant technical role as part of an integrated project team on large assignments\.
3\. Responsible and accountable for Project Manager KPIs, including customer focus, project set up, communication & team management, risk management and quality, change control, commercial management, and safety health & environment\.
4\. Ownership of fiscal responsibilities with projects and assignments and expected to meet financial, marketing, and management goals\.
5\. Proactive in being client focused, understanding the needs of the project and offering high quality, professional advice\.
6\. Work as a key member of teams leading on business development efforts and develop business awareness through resource and project management\. Perform a Bid Manager role in business development and work\-winning\.
7\. Work alongside Bid Directors and End Market leaders to assess market and business development trends and the capture of business opportunities\.

7\. Provide guidance to junior staff within teams and manage junior and graduate staff as appropriate\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ A degree in town planning, geography, property surveying, economics, or a related discipline and an MSc/MBA/equivalent qualification in a similar field, or overall equivalent experience\.
+ A track record in economics, economic development and regeneration
+ It would be desirable to also have experience of town planning and property development, covering planning policy, development frameworks and/or property markets and development viability\.
+ A portfolio of work which demonstrates excellent technical capabilities \(literacy and numeracy\)\.
+ Analytic and numerical skills, ideally including spread sheet modelling
+ A track record of contributing to innovative economics, regeneration and/or development planning solutions\.
+ A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills and ability to work in a consultancy environment, for example covering effectively managing client relationships and working to tight deadlines
+ A team player who can work as part of wide project teams – making high\-quality technical contributions\. Helps support the building of the team and the internal relationship\.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ A degree in town planning, geography, property surveying, economics, or a related discipline and an MSc/MBA/equivalent qualification in a similar field, or overall equivalent experience\.
+ **Membership of an appropriate professional institution \(RTPI/RICS\)\.**
