Our talented experts are dedicated to managing the complexity inherent in construction projects, catering to each client’s unique needs\. We provide services such as program management, construction management and owner’s representation to our clients around the globe\.
**Job Summary** Location: DC, VA, MD metro areas
Direct all pre\-construction estimating activities related to structural and architectural activities, from conceptual through working drawings, during pre\-construction phases of the project\. Work with Design managers and architects to ensure design control for all structural aspects of the project\. Execute project procurement including overall bid management and GMP proposal preparation for supporting hospitality and commercial/retail market sector projects \.
+ Perform quantity take\-offs and pricing from the concept design stage to the working document stage related to hospitality, retail or commercial projects\.
+ Obtain all necessary information from the consultants to complete the estimate\.
+ Verify unit cost pricing for each trade through historical data or vendor contract\.
+ Draft and finalize bidder Scopes of Work\.
+ Check local markets for man\-power and material availabilities\.
+ Review, quantify and price cost savings/value engineering opportunities\.
+ Analyze and compare bids with projected budget costs\.
+ Continually checking the work product for accuracy and completeness\.
+ Training on Tishman’s Estimating computer system and proficient knowledge of PC based applications such as Timberline and Microsoft Excel\.
+ Ability to communicate with all participants involved in the estimating process\. Must be a team player\.
+ Must be able to work well under constant pressure of deadlines and prioritize tasks to meet schedules\.
+ Creative thinking is required to visualize all related trade items especially for conceptual estimating with a minimum of documentation\.
+ Must be able to present and describe your work to your supervisors, A/E teams, clients and other personnel from within and outside the company\.
+ Must be able to assist bid team in transition from estimating to bidding and GMP preparation\.
Ability to prepare quick conceptual budgets at times with only conceptual documents from the A/E team\.
**Minimum Requirements** 8\-10 years ofprior experience and proficiency in pre\-construction conceptual and hard bid estimating for structural aspects of the project to include quantity take\- offs, project procurement including bid preparation, and familiarization with standard construction details and drawings\.
**Preferred Qualifications** 4 year Engineering degree or Construction Management degree preferred
