**Job Summary**
99. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES **:** Include the following\. Other duties may be assigned\.
+ Review Pre\-Acceptance Test \(PAT\) documents/data compared with the design drawings and the latest MARTA\-approved SOO to determine the readiness to perform Final Installation Acceptance Testing \(FIAT\)\.
+ Review and accept factory test data\. Compare with the latest SOO\.
+ Serve as the Authority’s test witness observing the performance of the required/applicable Fire Protection testing\.
- Monitor the completion of required tests and the correct collection of data and results
- Witness cabling integrity
- Witness device operability
- Witness clean agent testing
- Witness fire pump flow testing and analyze the results
- Witness hydrostatic testing and analyze the results
- Witness hydraulic water flow test and analyze the results
+ Verify before witnessing tests that:
- An acceptable IV has been conducted for the area being tested
- The contractor has test procedures, datasheets, and a drawing package that includes any redlines\.
- The contractor has personnel at all applicable locations and verbal communications between locations is established\.
- The equipment used for the test has current calibration and equipment serialization and calibration date are recorded on the proper document\.
- The contractor has the current MARTA approved SOO\.
- All data are recorded on the datasheets is in blue ink\.
+ Understand when to suspend \(halt\) testing\.
+ Act as the testing representative at various meetings; provide technical assistance and guidance\.
+ Write concise, coherent reports and correspondence, report observations and test results, including any deficiencies\.
+ Assist in reviewing and evaluating documents to ensure compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, and standards, including plans and specifications\.
+ Perform Quality Assurance oversight site visits/inspections observing sprinkler systems, detection and alarm, smoke control, and other fire protection components installation\.
+ Work efficiently with minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks expeditiously; establish and maintain effective working relationships\.
+ Research and identify appropriate test criteria\.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Quality Assurance located in the Quality Assurance Branch area at the HQ Annex
- Receive day\-to\-day work assignments from Test Engineer \(Mechanical\)
Report to the Manager of Quality Assurance or assigned designee\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or higher in a related discipline is required\.
+ Minimum 8\+ years of experience in Fire Protection Engineering
+ Strong computer skills\.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills\.
**Preferred Qualifications** Experience in Fire Protection Engineering, transportation or transit desired\.
