**Job Summary** The new AECOM offers the capabilities to design, build, finance, operate and maintain infrastructure assets across a range of global markets\. Whether we serve clients at one phase of the project lifecycle or throughout it, our role is to apply creative vision, technical expertise, interdisciplinary insight, and diverse experience to address complex challenges in new and better ways\.
As the VP of Strategic Development, you will develop strategies to expand AECOM’s role in the oil, gas and chemicals and power markets\. You will work closely with our clients and our business teams to assist in identifying/creating opportunities and co\-lead/sponsor such pursuits\.
+ Lead the development of market sector intelligence including industry assessment, trends and key markets and client opportunities for investment and work winning\. Assesses and quantify the market sector and key client expansion potential\.
+ Lead development of business with targeted clients and market sectors in the upstream, midstream, downstream oil and gas, chemicals, and power sectors and work with other end markets such as infrastructure and industrial where collaborative opportunities exist\.
+ Develop Energy\- Water\- Climate – Food Nexus solutions/offerings\.
+ Provide sustainability leadership in these markets in conjunction with corporate sustainability resources\.
+ Frame, design and deliver winning proposals while shaping first class client solutions\.
+ Create and lead industry consortia collaborative working groups on relevant topics of value to AECOM\.
+ Lead client relationship/business development activities through early interaction, “scope of work” development, interviews, and on\-going client maintenance interface\. Lead select major pursuits\.
+ Appoint capture managers and teams for each pursuit and have management accountability for all pursuits\. Provide leadership to business development and key account managers in developing win strategies, go\-no\-go plans and closing sales\.
+ Provide leadership to climate change initiatives in the OGC and Power end markets and, in conjunction, with other AECOM thought leaders\.
+ Be seen as an industry thought leader in your areas of expertise \- ensure we are active in creative marketing to tell the AECOM story in the sector\.
+ Collaborate across the end market group and operating organizations globally to implement key initiatives, investments and strategies for growth and practice\- development; obtain new project work; lead thought leadership and create profitability\.
+ Understand AECOM capability gaps and identify key hires to strengthen our offering\.
+ Promote AECOM’s brand/reputation as an innovative company through selected participation in high profile panels, speaking engagements, publications and social media\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ 20\+ years’ progressive experience working for large complex organisations with extensive exposure to the OGC/Power markets ideally with a resiliency/climate change/sustainability focus\.
+ Demonstrated ability to identify business opportunities, lead project engagements, attract new business, and build lasting professional relationships with senior client executives as well as relevant experience in project management and the full life\-cycle of a project\.
+ Ability to develop key and trusted client relationships that can lead to new business quickly\.
+ Demonstrated skills and track record in marketing and business development, including market strategy development, competitive assessment, market positioning and market strategy execution\.
+ Commercial acumen, delivering complex and demanding solutions to our clients\.
+ Superior interpersonal skills including relationship building and communication at all levels and work collaboratively across the organisation; listening to other points of view while still being persuasive\.
+ Demonstrable teambuilding and influencing skills; unquestioned integrity; and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address major client needs and challenges\.
+ Industry reputation – demonstrated expertise and success in leading captures and proposals in the services sector – with established relationships with users, key decision makers, and acquisition officials/leads in the government community\.
