Minimum Requirements: In accordance with Department of Defense Explosive Safety Board technical publication 18 (DDESB TP-18), UXO Technician III shall have:
Graduate of an EOD assistant course or an accredited UXO technician training course or military EOD school of the US, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, or Australia
Minimum 8 years prior military EOD experience and/or commercial UXO experience in munitions response actions or range clearance activities, as appropriate for the contracted operation
40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER training course completed and a valid driver's license
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Job Description: Field assignments may be CONUS/OCONUS. In addition to being able to fully perform all of the UXOTI and UXOTII responsibilities in accordance with Department of Defense Explosive Safety Board technical publication 18 (DDESB TP-18), an UXO Technician III's responsibilities may include the following:
Supervise and perform the on-site demilitarization of MEC and handling of demolition materials. Assist in the preparation of risk and hazards analyses. Prepare an explosives storage plan per all applicable guidance. Prepare required UXO munitions response actions and/or range maintenance administrative reports. Prepare standard operating procedures for on-site munitions responses and/or for range clearance activities.
Conduct daily site safety briefings. Supervise the conduct of all on-site UXO-related operations. Inspect and certify and/or verify MPPEH as safe or as to the explosive hazard it may present for transfer within the department of Defense or release from DoD control per current policies and standards. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those stated above.
