Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in safety, health or industrial hygiene, environmental engineering or demonstrated equivalent
• Minimum five years of relevant experience with environmental, health and safety compliance/permitting related to private (commercial, industrial, power, oil/gas, rail, manufacturing) and public sector clients
• An understanding of USEPA Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, USDOT HM-181, PADEP Act 2, Residual Waste, pollution prevention and preparedness, stormwater, tank systems, Process Safety Management (PSM) and construction safety
• Permitting skills and knowledge of federal and state EHS regulations
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
• This position requires successful completion of the AECOM Project Management Certification program within 6 months of date of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the AECOM Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee
Job Description: The Design Services Consulting Group (DCS) of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance professional for immediate hire in the Harrisburg, PA office. The appropriate qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in EHS compliance and auditing, relevant EHS permit package preparation, client interaction, report preparation, excellent client/peer communication skills and agency coordination. This position has a great potential for career growth. The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team of engineers and scientists that are responsible for EHS compliance and permitting in the Northeast Region with emphasis in New York and Pennsylvania.
Incumbent responsibilities
• Conduct environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance audits at industrial and commercial facilities as well as prepare necessary EHS permits.
• Manage EHS regulatory compliance programs for Fortune 500 and multi-national clients.
• Understand applicable EHS regulations, prepare and provide summary of relevant requirements.
• Successful candidate will be able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills a must; as well as skills in communication, technical writing and facility compliance audits.
