**Job Summary**
AECOM is currently recruiting for an experiencedSeniorH&S Consultant to join our well\-established and experienced team in our Basingstoke office\.
In Project and Construction Management, our experienced specialist staff provide clients with an independent and cost effective range of health and safety services, safeguarding our clients’ interests and delivering value\-for\-money outcomes\. We pride ourselves on the diversity of our health and safety commissions which encompass a wide range of public and private sector projects in the UK and overseas\. Our dedicated Health and Safety PM team ensure the design teams are compliant with the Construction \(Design and Management\) Regulations\.
Recent and current projects include Crossrail, the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, London 2012, London Gateway Port, as well as RAF, DIO and MoJ projects\.
As Senior H&S Consultant \- CDM Coordinator, your main responsibilities will include the following:
• Assisting with the role of CDM Coordinator and ensuring design teams follow the CDM regulations;
• Providing H&S consultancy services to clients;
• Reviewing design risk information in accordance with the CDM regulations;
• Supporting the Chelmsford’s team leader with management and staff mentoring;
• Building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and team members\.
**Minimum Requirements**
You will have experience of working in a similar role within a consultancy, with experience of the design management processes\. The following will also be required for this role:
• Demonstrable experience of engineering design,
• Experience of working with the CDM Regulations;
• Strong H&S knowledge applicable for Project and Construction Management;
• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate is desirable, although training can be given to obtain this;
• Membership of the Association for Project Safety is desirable;
• Good client and stakeholder communication/presentation skills;
• Flexibility for occasional travel;
• Commercial awareness is highly desirable\.
**Preferred Qualifications**
Ideally Degree educated in Civil/Structural Engineering or similar subject;
• Demonstrable experience of engineering design,
• Experience of working with the CDM Regulations;
• Strong H&S knowledge applicable for Project and Construction Management;
• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate is desirable, although training can be given to obtain this;
• Membership of the Association for Project Safety is desirable;
• Good client and stakeholder communication/presentation skills;
• Commercial awareness is highly desirable
