**About the Business Line** **Environment**
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\.
**Job Summary** In addition to being able to fully perform all of the UXO\-Sweep Personnel \(UXOSP\) functions above, and with direction and supervision from UXO\-qualified personnel, UXO TECH I personnel may:
+ Reconnoiter and classify UXO and DMM
+ Identify all types of military munitions, including possible fuzes and their condition, armed or unarmed\. Examples of these military munitions are:
- Bombs
- Guided missiles
- Projectiles
- Rockets
- Land mines and associated components
- Pyrotechnic items
- Military explosives and demolition materials
- Grenades
- Submunitions
+ Excavate subsurface UXO and DMM
+ Move and/or consolidate UXO and DMM that has been determined acceptable for movement within a Munitions Response Site \(MRS\) or Munitions Response Area \(MRA\), but not over public traffic routes
+ Transport demolition materials and/or UXO and DMM that have been determined safe for transport over public traffic routes, when required
+ Prepare firing systems, both electric and non\-electric, for demilitarization operations
+ Operate personnel decontamination stations
+ Assist in the inspection of Material Potentially Presenting an Explosive Hazard \(MPPEH\) for the presence of explosive hazards
+ Construct UXO\-related protective works
**Minimum Requirements**
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Graduate of a formal UXO training course of instruction \(as defined in the Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board \(DDESB\) TP 18 chapter 3 with an additional 200 hours of documented experience in munitions response actions or range clearance activities, as appropriate for the contracted operation, plus specific project/explosives safety training
+ Must be able to successfully complete required Background Check and Medical Surveillance Program
**Preferred Qualifications** Training Requirements:
+ Successful completion of Texas Engineering Extension Service UXO200 \- Unexploded Ordnance Technician Level Course and 200 hours of on\-site training on MEC and MPPEH project sites
+ 40 HR Hazwoper Certification
+ 8 HR Hazwoper Certification \(If applicable\)
+ OSHA Physical Certification
