Minimum one year general experience. Minimum six months specific experience which will demonstrate knowledge required to perform requirements of position. High school diploma or GED or equivalent required. May substitute experience for education at the rate of one year of specific experience for one year of high school. Must be able to obtain license to use any equipment for which a current license is required within 30 days of selection.
Job Description: Essential Responsibilities:
1) Receives daily work assignments from Site Manager in immediate organizational element.
2) Supervised by Project Leader.
3) Repairs and services office machines, such as adding, accounting, and calculating machines and typewriters, using hand tools, power tools, micrometers and welding equipment.
4) Operates machine to test moving parts and to listen to sounds of machine to locate causes of trouble.
5) Disassembles machine and examines parts, such as gears, guides, rollers, and pinions for wear and defects, using micrometers.
6) Repairs, adjusts, or replaces parts, using hand tools, power tools and soldering and welding equipment. Cleans and oils moving parts.
7) May give instructions in operation and care of machines to machine operators.
8) May assemble new machines.
9) May assist site manager in managing the warehousing facility, activities, and services required to support the contract(s) and customer(s).
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
