Requisition Number: FS104725 Interest Category: Operations & Maintenance Interest Sub Category: Operations & Maintenance Job Title : Aircraft Mechanic I Employment Category/Status: full-time Type of Position: Regular Hire Country: Japan State: Okinawa City: Kadena AFB Minimum Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent with a minimum three (3) years recent and actual experience with aircraft painting / de-paint/ Corrosion control & preparation processes is required. Must have experience using media blast paint / corrosion removal equipment. Must be able to pass a pulmonary function test for wear of respirator and be physically able to perform all functions of an aircraft painter. Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned job related tasks is mandatory. Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks. Must be able to pass NAC-1 and obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance. “Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English” Job Description: Perform Corrosion Control on Aerospace Ground Equipment Associated with - USAF KC-135, RC-135, E-3, and MC130 Aircraft. Prepares and, coats surfaces of aircraft / Ground Support Equipment, with paint, epoxy, resin, or other materials using brushes, roller, spray guns, and other devices. Remove old paint from aircraft / Ground Support Equipment using mechanical sanders, chemical paint remover and scraper or media blasting operations. Smooth surfaces with sandpaper and/or steel wool, roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to insure paint adheres to surface, masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted. Paint or install vinyl markings, insignia letters or numerals on aircraft using stencils. Other duties as assigned.
