**Job Summary** The Transportation Division of AECOM is seeking a motivated, talented Transportation Technician to work both in the field and in the office\. The qualified candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage office related tasks as well as be willing to work in the field completing construction inspections\.
Office Technician duties will include but not limited to:
+ Review contractor payrolls
+ File various items and documents for projects, both hard files and e\-filing
+ Assist in reviewing and checking calculations on Inspector Daily Reports and sketches
+ Assist in compiling and typing correspondence and reports as necessary
+ Assist Office Technician and/or supervisor\(s\) as necessary
Field Technician duties include but are not limited to:
+ Perform construction administration and inspection, quantity takeoffs, materials testing, and related assignments for Michigan Department of Transportation owned and local agency owned transportation facilitiesIn\-service bridge inspections may also be performed
+ Successful candidate will be involved with ensuring that proper traffic control measures are implemented, while monitoring and recording the work and progress of contractors, and tracking material quality and usage among other responsibilities
+ Successful candidate will readily and proactively communicate with AECOM supervisors and peers, MDOT and local agency personnel, contractor personnel and the general public\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Entry level position, previous experience not required
+ Night and weekend work may be required
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ AS in Engineering Technology or related field desirable
+ Excellent computer skills required including but not limited to spreadsheet creation & manipulation, word processing & web knowledge
+ Interpersonal, organizational & communication skills required
+ Detail orientated with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently and effectively
+ Motivated, quick learner with proficiency in basic math
+ Performed field work on transportation construction projects
