Major Responsibilities: The successful candidate will work in a team environment in the Arizona and New Mexico Highways & Design-Build Group. Specific duties will include transportation and drainage design for infrastructure projects, design of stormwater management facilities, preparing plans (roadway and drainage), estimating quantities and construction costs, developing construction specifications, managing tasks, interacting with clients, preparing reports, and assisting with business development. Projects may include freeway design, municipal street improvements, and light rail projects. The candidate should have a solid background in water resources and hydrologic/hydraulic design on transportation related projects. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter who displays a passion for solving problems, interacting in a team environment, and meeting deadlines. • Design of stormwater management facilities to meet current (new) regulations, roadway drainage facilities, horizontal and vertical roadway geometry, and erosion control for freeway and roadway improvement projects. • Hydraulic and hydrologic analysis and design • Preparation of quantity take-offs and preparing construction cost estimates • Mentoring junior staff • Researches and ensures assignments meet regulatory and industry codes, laws and requirements, as well as client requirements. • Determines the permitting requirements for the particular type of work being designed for the location in which it is to be constructed The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed above.
