**Job Summary** We're adding a Senior Manager of Procurement \- IT & Telecom, to join our team in Los Angeles\.
The Senior Category Manager, will be responsible for the management of a broad ranging category portfolio encompassing all related categories\. In this role, he/she will be responsible for maintaining and managing suppliers across the AECOM organization and providing direction to regional implementations\. This position is also be responsible for participating in the development of a Business Plan with a category management focus that encompasses spend analysis, strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, risk mitigation, supplier relationship management, and best practices sharing\. It will be critical that he/she gain a detailed knowledge and understanding of the Company’s operations in order to support key business decision makers in delivering seamless procurement value added solutions and be aligned with business partners and their imperatives\.
He/she will interact with staff located around the globe based on the portfolio projects\. He/she may also take on tasks given by the Category Director\.
MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
• Provides thought leadership to ensure all procurement programs are aligned with objectives and in compliance with company policies
• Collaborates with regional Procurement teams in establishing requirements, vendor selection criteria, and completion of the business case\. Role works closely with business partners to issue RFP’s and evaluate alternative solutions where applicable
• Sets or participates in the development of standards and metrics, practices and procedures, measures client satisfaction, promoting standardized processes and continuous improvement to achieve synergies, efficiency, and greater effectiveness
• Hands\-on knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies and/or category management processes
• Manages or executes monthly, quarterly and annual strategic supplier management activities for the corporation
• Provides effective strategic management of the key suppliers
• Maintaining, measuring & identification of cost savings, opportunity assessments and delivers fact based value driven sourcing decisions\.
• Mitigates risk and exposures through audit and control processes, thoughtful analyses and consideration of impacts and planning\.
• Develops & executes key performance indicators \(KPIs\), both quantitative and qualitative, and adjusts as necessary, to promote greater customer service, efficiency, and operational excellence\.
• Collaborates and partners with peers and internal stakeholders to ensure Procurement programs, policies, and procedures are appropriate and aligned with strategic priorities\.
• Work with stakeholders & vendors to manage & minimize contract leakage for the category\.
• Effective communication of category strategies to internal stakeholders, regional procurement and external vendors
• Procurement delivery, focused on service and solution\-oriented results
• May undertake special projects as required\.
• Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time and close advanced projects on time with minimal supervision\.
**Minimum Requirements** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will be a hands\-on, collaborative, professional and a strategic thinker, skilled in executing strategic plans and programs and accomplishing business objectives\.
• Bachelor degree in Business or equivalent
• Minimum 7\-10 years of experience in Procurement with 2\-4 years at a leadership level
• Has a solid understanding of international business and cultural differences and is able to manage effectively across multiple cultures\.
• Sound knowledge of strategic sourcing, negotiation principles, procurement fundamentals, principles, theories and processes, and management reporting\.
• Possesses an advanced level of collaboration influencing and consulting skills at all levels of the organization with the ability to effect strategic direction at the executive level
• Proven project execution expertise and analytical skills
• Experience in a global procurement role demonstrating technical and analytical skills and a track record of success working in a team\-based environment\.
• Deep knowledge of technology products and services, including hardware \(e\.g\. computers, servers\), enterprise\-wide software licensing and support models \(e\.g\. Oracle and Microsoft\), video, and telecom –both wired and wireless \(e\.g\. Verizon, Intercall, Vodaphone, WebEx, Cisco\)\.
• Knowledge of models and trends in the applicable supply markets
• Possesses a client focused approach as demonstrated by a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work assignments and new learning
• Solid decision\-making abilities and ability to effectively balance and integrate his/her business intuition
• Experience with effectively motivating, leading, influencing and engaging people to the vision
• Demonstrated ability to meet goals and deadlines
• Experience working in a large organization preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in, procurement concepts, practices, procedures, and compliance requirements
• Can identify and evaluate opportunities to appropriately in\-source, out\-source, or co\-source activities, emphasizing value\-added activities and minimizing non\-value added activities
• Ability to clearly articulate point of view orally and in writing; ability to grasp quickly business objectives and strategies and how service offerings support the attainment of those objectives
• High level of proficiency in business computer applications including Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook\.
• Strong relationship building and consulting skills
• High level of flexibility in working style and schedule
• Periodic travel
**Preferred Qualifications** • Preferred experience with integration of large, acquired companies
