**Job Summary** The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Performs engineering and planning assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks
+ Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
+ Exercises judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
+ Supervisor screens assignments and provides guidance in techniques and procedures to be applied
+ Receives close supervision on all aspects of assignments
+ Project specific requirements may include travel in Louisiana and/or Mississippi and major bridge inspection activities
+ Generally requires minimum of 0 \- 2 years’ experience
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelors or Masters of Science in Civil Engineering
+ Working knowledge of the design and planning of roads, drainage and site utilities
+ Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Previous exposure to roadway and civil site design
+ Engineer In Training \(EIT\) Certification
+ Traffic engineering experience
+ Previous experience with Louisiana DOTD or a consultant that works for LADOTD a plus
+ Ability to participate in bridge inspections
