Job Description: The Environmental Scientist will join the Geoscience team in our Sydney Office and will be involved with contaminated land projects for a number of clients in the petrochemical industries, as well as at times chemical manufacturing, property development and government industries.
The role will include fieldwork management and project management for a variety of small to medium sized contaminated land projects. Specifically the role will entail field work, data collation, client liaison (as required), analysis of information, preparation of technical reports under the supervision of senior technical staff, budget and time management.
Whilst undertaking project work, you will be working as part of a project/client facing team and directed by the site project manager/s and together managing the client’s deliverables from, end to end.
You will be part of the Geoscience team matrix for day to day administrative work and project specific deliverables.
Responsibilities/Objectives
- Manage and conduct site field programs
- Manage on-site drilling and remediation contractors
- Complete installation of groundwater monitoring wells
- Complete soil and groundwater sampling
- Liaise with analytical laboratories
- Preparation and implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Plans
- Budget and time management
- Writing technical reports for review by senior technical staff
- Deliver project services in accordance with Health & Safety systems, including audit programs
- Scoping and pricing of field programs
- Participate in workgroup initiatives including technical activities
- Perform other related duties from time to time, provided that they are consistent with your skills, competencies and expertise
