**Job Summary** The AECOM Morrisville \(Raleigh\) Geotechnical Group is seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Engineer to be responsible for project management and delivery of investigations, design, laboratory analyses and construction phase services for transportation related projects such as roads, bridges, railroads and pipelines\. In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in other geotechnical related investigation, design and construction phase services for various civil and waste disposal projects\. Additional responsibilities include report preparation, construction CQA/management activities, and routine client communications\.
Other key activities will include:
• Manage subsurface investigations and laboratory testing programs
• Perform geotechnical analyses using LRFD for foundations, retaining walls and slopes
• Prepare subsurface investigation reports, boring logs and cross sections in NCDOT format
• Prepare designs, specifications and construction documents
• Apply engineering principles to develop effective solutions
• Clearly and concisely communicate with the project team, regulatory staff, and client
• Prepare or direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, and construction schedules for projects
• Inspect construction site to monitor progress and assess conformance with engineering plans, specifications and construction standards
• Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects
• Apply knowledge of applicable health and safety requirements and environmental compliance and requirements
**Minimum Requirements** • BS or MS in Civil/Geotechnical engineering
• Must have PE in North Carolina or ability to obtain by comity
• Must have NCDOT related project experience
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in investigation, analyses and design of transportation related infrastructure projects
• Proven experience in project management for Geotechnical related deliverables for roadways, bridges, railroads, pipelines and other transportation related infrastructure
**Preferred Qualifications** Advanced degree \(MS\) is preferred
