Minimum Requirements: Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelors of Science Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four-year accredited college or university.
· 2+ years of progressive work experience or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Must be able to travel between the DUF6 project facilities (Portsmouth, Paducah, or Lexington) as required to meet project requirements. In addition, travel may be required for training purposes or vendor visits.
· Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Must have good written and spoken communication and analytical skills to effectively communicate with all level of management and site personnel.
· Working knowledge of computers, computer systems and software application programs associated with engineering assignments.
• Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen.
Special Requirements and/or Training, if any:
· Experience with HF acid systems preferred.
· Experience with uranium processing preferred.
· DOE experience preferred.

Job Description: BWXT Conversion Services LLC is a subsidiary of BWX Technologies Inc. and URS. Its project headquarters reside in Lexington, KY. Plant operations are located in Paducah, KY and Piketon, OH. The Company currently employs approximately 375 employees.
An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Process Engineer at BWXT's manufacturing facility located in Piketon, OH. The plant converts Uranium hexafluoride (UF6) into Uranium Oxide (UOX) and Hydrofluoric Acid (HF). The Piketon plant site is regulated by the U.S. Department of Energy and plays a unique role in the U.S. nuclear power cycle. Piketon is located in South Central Ohio, 22 miles North of Portsmouth, 95 miles East of Cincinnati and 69 miles South of Columbus.
Job Summary:
Under general supervision of the Process Engineering Manager, performs a variety of engineering tasks in support of the DUF6 conversion project at the assigned site location (Portsmouth or Paducah).
Responsibilities:
The Process Engineer performs various engineering/technical tasks on the DUF6 conversion project to support operations. The Process Engineer displays technical competence on assignments and may be assisted by other team members.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
· Promoting responsible empowerment and the core values: safety, integrity, accountability, teamwork excellence, and leadership.
· Maintains training and qualifications.
· Identifies, manages, and controls the configuration of DUF6 processing facility.
· Leads technical discussions with peers and supervision.
· Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement design changes.
· Functions as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for end to end process and internal interfaces.
· Ensures spare parts program adequacy and functionality.
· Defines required surveillances, establishing their performance frequency (in conjunction with the Nuclear Safety Manager).
· Tracks and trends process metrics.
· Identifies and recommends process improvements.
· Seeks to resolve process bottlenecks and inefficiencies in order to improve plant performance.
· Interfaces with operations management and provides periodic reports on task specific engineering deliverables.
· Working in a group atmosphere and in accordance with the team consensus.
· Assists with system/component troubleshooting.
· Functions as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Operation Procedures and Training.
· Performs all other position related job duties as assigned or requested.
· Working hours may include 12 hour rotating shift.
· Provides technical support for plant operations in support of the Facility Manager.
· Provides technical support to control room operations.
