**About the Business Line** **Environment**
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\.
**Job Summary**
AECOM actively seeking a creative, highly talented CADD Technician for immediate employment in the Newport News office\. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects\.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
+ Perform computer aided drafting/detailing for a variety of facility design projects
+ Perform quantity take\-offs
+ Reports to the Senior Design Manager and will receive specific instructions from individual engineers
+ Support mechanical engineers and others in the development of design documents
+ Manage project AutoCAD files and have a thorough understanding of the file and sheet naming conventions, details, layers, colors, line thicknesses, etcetra, that are defined in the A/E/C CADD Standards included in the National CADD Standards Initiative
**Minimum Requirements**
+ High school diploma or equivalent and have taken related vocational courses
+ Minimum 4 years of experience in CADD \(Computer Aided Design & Drafting\)
+ Bachelor's Degree may substitute for four years of experience
+ Ability to develop details for construction, piping isos, and material take\-off drawings and be familiar with process systems and related discipline design requirements
+ Familiarity with codes and permits
+ Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized and effectively manage time
+ Position requires effective communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
+ The successful candidate will be articulate with professional presence, solid decision making, planning, and organizational skills
+ Candidate must be able to work in a team environment
+ Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
+ Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2010\+ and CAD Works or other design software
+ Ability to create technical drawings under the direction of Engineers
+ Must have good computer skills in Word, Excel, and other software needed to produce documents and clientdeliverables
+ Occasional travel may be required
+ Background check required
+ Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre\-employment substance abuse test
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Exercises judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
+ Supervisor screens assignments and provides guidance intechniques and procedures to be applied
