Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate and prepare construction estimates for small and medium scope construction projects\. Support estimating program, providing technical and administrative direction to ensure corporate objectives, including project work and backlog volume, are met\. Interfaces with A/E’s and subcontractors to elicit engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility and projected budget\. Performs all functions and responsibilities in partnership with the company’s culture, corporate vision, ethics and code of conduct\.
Essential Responsibilities/Functions
+ Participate with corporate leadership and project management in determining what types of projects to bid, as well as help develop strategies and techniques for successfully obtaining work\.
+ Provide and/or coordinate full estimating services on all size projects and contract types\.
+ Participates in pre\-bid meetings and contributes to bid strategy formulation\.
+ Reviews estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to final bid submission\.
+ Participate in bid presentations to clients and assume significant responsibility for closing the “sale”\.
+ Perform and direct research and client contact to identify potential projects/customers and gain admittance to bidder’s list to secure new work on a continuing basis\.
+ Provide technical assistance and advice in negotiating contracts and pricing change orders\.
+ Provide advice, guidance, mentoring and direction to junior personnel toward the achievement of corporate goals\.
+ Maintain a presence in professional associations \(e\.g\. BOMA, Associated Builders & Contractors\) to build rapport with potential clients and specialty contractors\.
**Minimum Requirements** Qualifications:
+ Four year engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience\.
+ Five to Ten years’ experience in commercial estimating and related functions plus thorough knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts required\.
+ Excellent organizational, decision making, and problem solving skills essential\.
+ Must be computer literate and receptive to emerging technology and software programs\.
