Minimum Requirements: College level or formal training in computer systems, including local area network and Microsoft server workstation support. Bachelor Degree is preferred. Four years of shipboard experience in naval operations with emphasis on CSG/ESG operations. AIC/RTO training highly desirable. Two years of experience in computer systems (hardware/software), command line, and LAN support. Windows and LINUX training and certification desired. Knowledge of Global Command and Control System (GCCS). Background in computer operations with software such as Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Office, and Red Hat LINUX based training systems highly desirable.
Fleet training with extensive background in tactical fixed wing, rotary wing, or Navy surface/sub-surface operations. Experience with Naval weapon systems, radars, and tactics desirable.
Must be physically able to deploy onboard a naval ship and to remote sites for up to four weeks at a time.
Must be physically able to perform physical labor to include heavy lifting and carrying of tracking instrumentation (67 pounds) and other LATR-associated equipment during ship/participant installation.
Must possess a valid state Driver’s License.
Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
Must Obtain and Maintain a Government Secret Clearance.
Current transferable secret clearance preferred.
Job Description: Draws on experience in U.S. Navy fleet operations to support staffs ashore and afloat that conducting fleet exercises. Supports U.S. Navy/Marine Corps fleet operational training by applying system analysis and design skills in portable workstation interoperability, shipboard local area networking and computer systems imbedded the Large Area Tracking Range (LATR) system. Operate, maintain, and be able to troubleshoot LATR and TCTS computer applications used for aircraft and ship tracking. Support LATR operations using Windows 7, Windows Office suite software applications, LINUX Red Hat, and SharePoint. Document maintenance actions in the MAXIMO management system.
Program, set-up, monitor, and develop debrief products using the LATR system and SIMDIS. Coordinate the installation and removal of Iridium Tracking Units, and RF tracking equipment used in support of major multi-platform operations and exercises to include fixed and rotary wing aircraft, ships, and other surface participants. Install LATR LDTS remote workstations at remote sites and onboard naval ships using a variety of communication paths to include SIPRNET, T1, DS3, and EHF.
Provide ashore and afloat live Exercise display and debrief products for further analysis by CSG-4, USFF, NWDC, or any customer that is being supported by LATR by direction of NSWC. Discuss exercise reconstruction products with senior officers. Obtain pre-mission data for input into the TCTS system from participating squadron and inputs data into the TCTS MLU prior to scheduled missions. Interact with squadron operations personnel to obtain line-up information. Verifies all information received from the squadron is correct and is accurately reflected on the TCTS/LATR systems.
