Our global network of top\-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries\. **Job Summary** We are looking to recruit a **Transport Planning Consultant** to our Transport Planning Business in the Liverpool office\. The Transport Planning team is expanding to meet the demands of our wide portfolio of clients – from both within the UK and overseas\. This role has been created as we are aspiring to grow significantly over time, offering unlimited career progression potential for the right person\. An ideal candidate will come from an analytical background, such as mathematics, economics, geography, or engineering and will have experience in transport planning and possess key responsibilities listed in this recruitment notice\. We value a combination of analytical and communication skills, with a creative and enthusiastic approach to problem solving\. We are seeking an individual with an in depth appreciation of their chosen area with good knowledge of wider transport planning issues\. This is an exciting opportunity to join an accomplished team and work on a range of groundbreaking and innovative projects for a wide variety of clients\. Job responsibilities: The appropriate level of technical expertise is required in order that the Job / Project Accountabilities listed below can be carried out to the necessary standard: •Delivering high quality technical tasks independently and under supervision from more senior staff\. •Interact and co\-ordinate with other business lines on various multi\-disciplinary projects •Working with and supervising more junior staff\. •Contributing to technical client reports and presentations\. •Respond to client queries resulting from client reports •Undertaking relevant research to open up application of modelling/analysis tools and techniques •Receive project briefs from a Senior Manager •Understand and implement Quality Assurance procedures •Attend and contribute to client progress meetings and debriefs •Work within financial and programme constraints •Prepare client presentations and supporting documentation with a Senior Manager, and attend as necessary **Minimum Requirements** •A graduate with a BSc/MSc in an analytical subject \(e\.g\. geography, mathematics, economics, engineering\)\. •Knowledge of the UK public transport industry •Self\-motivation and capability to undertake specific tasks with minimum supervision •Experience in using one or more relevant transport planning and simulation software packages e\.g\. SATURN, CUBE, EMME, VISUM, VISSIM, PARAMICS, TUBA, LEGION, VISWALK, Pedroute, Paxport, CAST, MOIRA and spreadsheet modelling techniques etc\. •Experience in transport modelling and forecasting of highway and public transport demand and supply and/or pedestrian modelling and planning\. •Ability to manage own time to meet project deadlines •Excellent spreadsheet skills •Presentation and meeting skills •Excellent technical writing capability •Familiarity with WebTAG •The ability to communicate technical concepts and provide a level of supervision to more junior staff\. •Experience in appraisal and evaluation of transport proposals\. **Preferred Qualifications** •Membership or working towards membership of a chartered professional institution\. •A masters degree or PhD in Transport Planning or related subject/social based discipline\. **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
