**Job Summary** Aecom are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in Building Services to join our Asset Management South division based in West Malling\.
The successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be a key component in a multi\-disciplinary division whose services consist of Building Surveying, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, CAD, Structural Engineering, and Project Management\. You will be in charge of managing multiple small to medium sized projects with a number of our key clients who include East Sussex County Council, Defence Infrastructure Organisation \(DIO\) and London Fire Brigade\.
You will have the vision we need to build our offering, undertaking a business development role as well as engineering design\. As the business grows, we will look to the Principal Engineer to build a success team around them, providing leadership and strong management\. In this high profile role, you will be the first point of direct contact with clients and contractors\. You will develop the contacts required to grow our HVAC business, building on a demonstrable specialism in this area\.
**Minimum Requirements** The ideal Senior Mechanical Design Engineer would be/have:
• Expertise demonstrable in HVAC with a track record of successful application of specialist knowledge or skills
• Current experience working in a post where design was a major part of the role
• Extensive post Chartership experience working in roles where candidate’s engineering knowledge is a key attribute
• Experience of working within a regulated and quality assured system in roles reliant upon professional engineering judgement
• Demonstrable record successful delivery, including positions influencing other professional engineers in the definition, implementation and delivery of engineering work packages
• Ability to provide strategic guidance based on knowledge and experience of projects across a portfolio to inform and direct projects and programmes
• Ability to provide leadership and undertake business development in a key area within an engineering function including acting as a custodian of resource and expertise
