**Job Summary** AECOM are currently looking for an experienced **Senior Engineer** to join our Bridges and Structures team in London\. We are part of the European Bridges and Structures sector which operates from more than 25 office locations across the UK and Europe and has more than 400 engineers and technicians\.
Our team is based in the London Victoria and specialise in the design of major civil engineering structures, predominantly for contractor clients\. We have an established reputation for producing elegant and economical designs, specialising in high\-quality structures across the spectrum of civil and structural engineering\. Our projects include the design of bridges, underground structures, tunnels, marine structures and major temporary works\.

As a Senior Engineer based in our London Victoria office you will be responsible for taking a leading role in the design of major civil engineering structures\. You will be preparing designs under minimal supervision, managing a small team of engineers and technicians and assisting your manager in the commercial and financial control of your project\.
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Taking a leading role in the design of major civil engineering structures, either working independently or managing a small team of engineers and technicians
+ Preparing conceptual, preliminary and detailed design of a wide range of structures; bridges, underground structures, tunnels, marine structures and major temporary works
+ Delivering your projects on time, within budget and to good quality
+ Liaising with external and internal clients
+ Assisting in the commercial and financial management of your project
+ Supporting business development activities and preparation of bids
+ Mentoring less experienced members of the team
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Design experience with one or more of the following major civil engineering structures; bridges, underground structures, tunnels, marine structures and major temporary works
+ Experience in managing junior engineers and technicians
+ Good knowledge of design to Eurocodes
+ Good understanding of the design process and interfacing with multiple disciplines
+ Profound knowledge of structural mechanics and fundamental engineering principles
+ A dedication to good quality engineering
+ Ability to think creatively and solve structural engineering problems quickly and efficiently
+ Excellent interpersonal skills
+ Team player, prepared to play your part and be flexible to suit the team and project requirements
+ Ability to mentor less experienced engineers

**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, or equivalent
+ Chartered with a relevant institution, or equivalent
