Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of receipt and issue transaction processing and discrepancy procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of applicable guidelines, methods, policies, procedures, regulations, and techniques required to conduct extensive and exhaustive searches for required information. Demonstrated knowledge of computer codes and terminology used in order to properly process actions. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of formats, source documents, coding, and program controls in order to accurately input, correct, and/or retrieve from the various automated systems. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to operate data transcribing and/or data entry equipment at an acceptable rate of speed and accuracy. May be required to obtain a forklift license within 90 days of assignment. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Job Description: THIS POSITION HAS A ROTATING SHIFT. Purpose and Scope: Position performs data entry and transcribing duties by entering information from paper documents used by the Department of Defense activities and commercial entities into the stock control and inventory system(s) of record. This includes the requirement to properly match input documentation to resulting data system output to ensure the correct entry of the data. Essential Responsibilities: 1) Inputs data into the HMMS, SEAMIS and CostPoint automated systems to control and process a wide variety of receipt, issue and waste management actions associated with daily JEMMS activities. 2) Performs research to resolve receipt and issue documentation discrepancies. 3) Maintains suspense files, routes disposition instructions, coordinates with customers, Managers and operation’s personnel, uses and prepares a wide variety of data input to update and correct computer records. 4) Uses local files and computer controlled entry devices and automated data bases and systems to perform research on discrepancies. 5) Monitors the control of government and non-government owned items. 6) May provide instruction to coworkers. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
