Minimum Requirements: Minimum Requirements:
1. High school graduate or demonstrated equivalent.
2. Three years of experience maintaining buildings, facilities and equipment as a general maintenance technician, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Qualified applicants offered a position must be able to obtain site specific security access including all applicable background checks.
4. Qualified applicants must submit to and pass a Tuberculosis test prior to employment, or be medically cleared for Tuberculosis by a medical professional, and be able to maintain annual negative results.
5. Qualified applicants must pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and be able to successfully complete a fit test for each type of respirator needed for the position or for an approved alternate respirator that provides equal or better protection from identified hazards.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience utilizing a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).
2. Experience working in a large research and development facility.
3. Experience utilizing Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Power Point).
4. Ability to read and understand repair manuals and drawings.
5. Experience working with and understanding work instructions.
6. Experience working on industrial HVAC systems and associated equipment including steam systems.

Other Attributes:
• Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work rotating shifts, holidays and weekends. Work schedules can change based on business needs.

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
• Must have the visual ability to determine on screen color changes to SCADA monitored equipment.
• Must be able to work at heights greater than 50 feet.
• Must be able to communicate with others via radio, telephone and computer/text.
• Have the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Have the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
• This position requires the ability to either sit for long periods of time or walk extensively both indoors and out in any weather during the course of a 12 hour shift.
• Have the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
• Have the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
• Have the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
• Have the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
• Have the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant for shift.
• Must have the manual dexterity to use a variety of tools and test equipment associated with the trade.

Job Description: URS, an AECOM company, is seeking a 1st shift General Maintenance Technician III in Pearl River, NY! Typical work hours are 8:00am – 4:30pm, however rotating shifts or non-standard hours may be required based on business demand.
This position is responsible for preserving and enhancing the appearance of the facility. Such duties may include but not limited to replacing lamps and ballasts, painting, general carpentry, drywall repair, minor plumbing, hanging pictures, carpet repairs, office moves, door hardware, ceiling tiles, changing air filters, fan belts, greasing bearing etc.
Essential Functions:
• Performs general maintenance and repair duties on a variety of facility systems
• Under general supervision, performs tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity.
• Reviews service requests for repairs and maintenance, determines nature of problem, and executes appropriate solution.
• Coordinates work with outside contractors.
• Ensures all appropriate building standards are maintained at a high level of quality.
• Operates hand and power tools and mechanical equipment effectively and safely complies with safety requirements including use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• May assist higher level technicians in completing work assignments
• Seeks assistance from higher level technicians and supervisor/management when necessary in order to complete work with highest level of customer satisfaction
• Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.
• Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
• Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
• Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing PPE as required.
• Flexible in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
• Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
