Minimum Requirements: HS Diploma and 3 months of general work experience. Prior computer and internet skills desired. Working knowledge of DoD and DoN supply and warehousing systems, procedures and method preferred. Must be physically capable of lifting 40 pounds, standing on step ladders and reaching overhead. Communication skills to confer with employees at all levels within the organization. Must possess a valid drivers license and ability to obtain forklift license.
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a security clearance.
Job Description: AECOM has an open opportunity for a Temporary Material Handler in our Crane, IN location!
Move and process shelf life materials within receiving, shipping, storage, and packaging facility for shelf life items. Handle serviceable and unserviceable materials, hazardous materials and products and route them in accordance with applicable regulations. Perform cleaning/maintenance of work and storage areas. Support packaging, repackaging and re-pouring of shelf life materials.
- Manually loads or unloads trucks or other transporting devices.
- Unpack, shelve, or place items in proper storage locations. Transport goods by hand truck, cart or forklift
- Prepare shelf life materials by placing them in reusable containers, the specific operations performed dependent upon the kit type, size, and number of units to be packed along with the type of container employed.
- Comply with all applicable company, DoN and OSHA regulations for tools, safety, security, HAZMAT, support equipment and housekeeping.
- Verify materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damage.
- Route materials to prescribed storage and test locations.
- Store, stack or palletize materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
- Rearrange, inventory and examine stored materials.
- Remove material from storage and prepare for issue or shipping.
- Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
