Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related filed and at least 10 years’ experience.
Candidates should have:
• CISSP or equivalent
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant and progressive hands-on experience related to vulnerability management
• In-depth experience with: Qualys, Nessus, OVAL, SCAP, reviewing and modifying policies
• In-depth experience with: Windows Server 2008/2012, TCP/IP, DNS, Local Area Networking
• Working knowledge of: Red Hat Linux or other UNIX system, CVEs, Cisco Networking
• In-depth experience with: Researching vulnerabilities, remediating vulnerabilities, determining false positives (vulnerabilities) and providing detailed documentation of such
• Understanding of systems security engineering concepts, principles and theories
• Understanding of NIST and Security Technical Implementation Guide security controls
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent documentation skills
• Detail and process oriented
It is highly desirable that candidates have:
• Skill in using analytics, logic and reasoning to troubleshoot issues and find the best solutions to overcome challenges
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with conflicting priorities
• Previous experience supporting a Federal Government Agency
• Linux RedHat Virtualization Certification
• Microsoft Certified IT Professional
May be required to work evenings and weekends. Participation in a 24x7 on call rotation may be required. May be required to travel to SEC locations and data centers (<10% travel required)

Job Description: AECOM has an immediate opening for a temporary Senior Security Engineer to support a Federal Agency with mitigation of outstanding security vulnerabilities.
This temporary position position will be approximately 500 hours.
The Engineer will be part of team whose mission will be to remediate operating system and application security vulnerabilities, and develop a workable process that will facilitate the management of vulnerabilities going forward. The Engineer will review the Qualys policies to determine if the tool is being used according to best practice, and that all of its capabilities are being leveraged. Additionally, the Engineer will be required to train the rest of the team in the use of Qualys.
