Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related filed and 7 or more years’ experience
Candidates must have:
• Experience managing Windows 2003, 2008, and 2012 servers
• Experience managing Red Hat Linux (RHEL) 5,6, and 7 servers
• Experience performing application deployments on Solaris 10 systems
• Understanding of VMWare enterprise software hypervisor VMware ESXi
• Understanding of Active Directory and underlying concepts, including GPOs, DNS, FRS, LDAP, Kerberos, sites, forests, trees, domains, trusts, security and resource principals, FSMO roles, etc..
Candidates should have:
• Experience working with and administering a large Windows 2003/2008/2012 infrastructure
• Experience in developing base server configurations (e.g., RHEL 7)
• Experience creating system gold images for Windows and RHEL
• Experience deploying enterprise applications that run on SAS, JBOSS, Tomcat, and IIS
• Experience managing a patching system on RHEL Satellite server, WSUS, and Tivoli Endpoint Manager
• Experience with VMWare virtualization administration and tools
• Certifications (i.e., MCSA, MCSE, RHCSA, RHCE, RHCA, VCA, VCP, VCAP)
• Experience with an IT helpdesk ticketing system
It is highly desirable that candidates have:
• Skill in using analytics, logic and reasoning to troubleshoot issues and find the best solutions to overcome challenges
• Good communication skills, both oral and written, as they may be required to prepare and present documents to various technical review boards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with conflicting priorities
• Previous experience supporting a Federal Government Agency
• Federal IT Security Professional Certification

This role may require working evenings and weekends to support the agency. Occasional on-call support may be a requirement. Will require<10% Travel.
Job Description: AECOM has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Level Platform Server Administrator/Engineer with a strong background in Windows, Linux, and VMWare to support a government agency's Office of Information Technology.
Member of the team is responsible for supporting the non-production server and storage environment, as well leading engineering efforts for core infrastructure projects.
These Duties include:
• Supporting and monitoring the environment on a daily basis, including day-to-day server operations, troubleshooting problems, and working assigned infrastructure projects.
• Work closely with external entities to upgrade/modify server infrastructure, add new requirements and troubleshoot server related issues.
• Will create, maintain and evaluate documentation, i.e. backup procedures, software and hardware lists, proper naming convention, proper IP address.
• Ensure that systems are patched on a routine basis.
• Leading infrastructure projects through the project lifecycle (inception, design, test, deployment)
