High School graduate or demonstrated equivalent. 2. Three years of experience as a mechanical maintenance technician in a large industrial, production, military or research and development facility, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Journey level license in a skilled trade. 2. Welding certification. 3. Training and experience in Metasys and/or Tridium building automation systems 4. Experience working in a Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) environment; Maximo experience is a plus. 5. Experience utilizing a mobile device for processing work orders. 6. Systems experience including plumbing, steam and hot water boilers, air handling units, pumps, compressors, air dryers, and/or exhaust systems. 7. Ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, procedures, drawings, and schematic diagrams. 8. Experience working with Microsoft Office software (e.g. Outlook, Word, and Excel). Additional Information: • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. • This position may require a valid Driver’s License. • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location. • This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules. Other Attributes: • Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends. Physical Requirements: • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift. • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift. • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift. • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift. • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift. • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift. • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife. • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding. • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement. • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress. Special Requirements: • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed. • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained. Job Description: URS, an AECOM company, is seeking a 1st shift Facility Maintenance Mechanic in Richmond, VA! Typical work hours are 7:30 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.; hours may vary based on business demand. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, performing preventive/corrective maintenance to a wide variety of facility related equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, rooftop exhausts, doors, hardware, facility equipment, etc. in an industrial R&D environment. Safely work on 3 phase 480v power, troubleshoot and diagnose electrical control circuits from 24 VAC/DC and up including basic lighting, load centers and BAS controlled systems with instrumentation experience.
