Job Description: AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our team in Newport News, VA. The successful candidate will provide support to engineering and design staff in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, construction and operation of diverse electrical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Perform assessments and repairs of mechanical equipment or systems.
2. Perform validations/verifications of assessed mechanical equipment or systems.
3. Transfer assessment findings to spread sheet.
4. Perform final inspection of mechanical equipment or systems IAW drawings or diagrams.
5. Read and comprehend NAVSEA drawings and schematics.
6. Establish and maintain filing systems, databases and logs as needed for tracking project status.
7. Assess and repair shipboard laundry galley equipment, ventilation systems, overhaul motors and controllers, elevators, propulsion machinery, etc.
8. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested
