Minimum Requirements: • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or other related scientific discipline
• Minimum of 6 years of experience conducting environmental assessments such as Environmental Site Closure Surveys (ESCS), Environmental Condition Reports (ECR), POL soil remediation, Underground Storage Tanks, and/or Aboveground Storage Tank removal
• Minimum of 4 years of experience directly managing Environmental Remediation projects
• Must be able to live and work in an austere environments under harsh working conditions
• Must be fluent in English and have strong verbal and writing communication skills
• Must be able to receive a security clearance, if required for position
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Job Description: AECOM is currently supporting the US Government with Environmental Response Teams in Afghanistan. This is an USACE task order with personnel deployed at Bagram, Kandahar, and other US Military installations. Services provided under this Task Order include response to Environmental Issues facing US Military, including solid waste recycling, responding to fuel spills, and providing Subject Matter Expertise and other specialized support for various Environmental Corrective Actions in theatre.
This position is contingent on Award of new Contract with anticipated start date on or around August 2015. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed.
This is a deployed assignment in Afghanistan. Austere living conditions and travel from primary base of operations to Forward Operating Locations is required. Must be physically and mentally fit for duty in Afghanistan.
