Job Description: For this position you will have at least 2 years experience on civil infrastructure projects in design and /or site-based roles. Addressing client issues and managing the delivery of projects within the project time frame and budget. Providing good technical and communication standards, whilst providing a superior service to URS’ clients. You will have the opportunity to develop internal and external client relationships and actively participate in preparing proposals and convert these into projects.
You will be joining the Sydney Civil/Structures team which is currently in the process of restructuring, thus, offering the opportunity to become involved in exciting business development strategies and proposals, enabling flexibility and diversity in your role which will provide suitable mentorship so as to meet your career aspirations.
Responsibilities/Objectives
• Manage projects and undertake technical work associated with civil designs including road and rail schemes, bridges, retaining walls and other civil infrastructure
• Geotechnical engineering knowledge is preferable but not essential;
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team comprising civil; hydrology and hydraulics, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical,
• Assist with the preparation of tenders and proposals and convert them into projects;
• Participate in workgroup initiatives including technical and operational activities and assist in the building of a strong Civil Engineering Team ;
• Apply a deeper understanding of Engineering principles to devise and deliver practical solutions to problems;
• Deliver projects and technical work successfully and be accountable for project planning and project management, as well as supplier management on projects;
• Develop and maintain relationship with clients;
• Write reports that require minimum editing; and
• Review and edit civil drawings; design reports and specifications.
• Incorporate knowledge of site experience into projects and other construction solutions for designs.
