Minimum Requirements: URS, an AECOM Company is immediately hiring an Environmental Technician II at Ft. Polk, LA.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Biology or Chemistry desired and 4 years work related experience. A combination of technical certifications, such as HAZWOPPER, may be substituted. Good communications and analytical skills; Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the environmental and safety compliance fields.; demonstrated working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. Must be highly skilled in the use of Microsoft - Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook. Hazardous Materials Management System software knowledge a plus, must be able to utilize highly technical automated systems. Valid driver's license required; Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Job Description: Performs general environmental Hazardous Material support services and analysis to ensure the success of the environmental program.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Manage the on-site and off-site hazardous material activities including development and oversight of programs.
2. Plan, design, and direct programs to solve problems concerned with hazardous material.
3. Perform technical research and utilize computers as aids in developing solutions to the management and storage of hazardous material issues.
4. Formulate plans, designs, cost estimates, and specifications.
5. Conduct required environmental and safety analysis and observations and supports the Site Manager, and KO or designee with ESOH surveillances conducted by local Environmental, Safety or Occupational Health offices.
6. Evaluates results and makes recommendations as necessary for maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies.
7. Conducts ESOH training with Contractor employees performing under this contract.
8. Maintain a written ESOH plan that will address the approach to complying with ISO 14001:2004 and OSHA's 18001:2007.
9. Will supervise, maintain, and report on the Quality Control Program.
10. Responsible for providing and managing all contract required training.
11. Responsible for maintaining the Spill plan and providing all training and reporting in accordance with the plan.
12. Will ensure contract compliance with Installation, State and Federal environmental regulations.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
