More information on AECOM and its services can be found at www\.aecom\.com\. **About the Business Line**  **Water** We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design\-build\. **Job Summary** + Receipt of all technical queries from the Contractor and timely resolution of queries including liaison with the AECOM design office to prevent delays to the Contractor\. + Receipt of, timely response to, and in consultation with the Engineer the handling of all correspondence between Engineer and Contractor\. + Pro\-active risk identification \(safety, delays, quality of work, etc\) and maintain a risk register with proposals for risk mitigation\. + Review Contractor’s construction method statements and provide feedback to the Contractor in consultation with the Engineer\. + Attend weekly technical meetings with Contractor\. + Attend monthly site progress meetings and prepare accurate minutes\. + Review the Contractor’s work Programmes and provide supporting comment to the Engineer for purposes of acceptance or rejection of Programme updates\. + Assist the Engineer with drafting of Variations\. + Support the Engineer with claims assessment and evaluation\. + Compilation, checking and review of interim payment certificates\. + Implement and maintain the AECOM IMS construction quality control system and the requirements of the Construction Quality Plan\. + With the assistance of the Assistant Resident Engineer \(ARE\) direct the activities of AECOM field staff, external inspection agencies, and AECOM design staff, ensure systematic inspection of all key construction materials, fabrications, equipment, plant and electrical works for compliance with the Contract specifications and drawings\. + Act as supervisor to the ARE and direct activities in accordance with the allocated duties and responsibilities of the ARE\. + Arrange for checking of setting out, testing of materials and workmanship by the Contractor and external agencies as necessary to ensure compliance with the Contract requirements\. + When appropriate request Designers to visit the site to review construction work or resolve problems\. + Manage all logistical arrangements for establishment and proper functioning of the field office\. + Any other responsibilities that the Engineer may instruct from time to time\. + Personal attributes and skills required: Good people management skills, good written and verbal communication and ability to effectively chair meetings\. + Software: MSOffice, MS Project, CSS and similar scheduling packages will be an advantage\. **Personal attributes \(candidate\):** + Self\-motivated, work independently, take initiative, apply sound discretion, good interpersonal skills\. + Ability to work with people of local and diverse international cultures\. + Ability to work under pressure and understand the importance of delivery and client satisfaction\. + Excellent spoken and written communication skills \(English\) are required\. + High level of computer literacy skills relevant to contract management including work scheduling and report production\. **Minimum Requirements** + At least 15 years experience in civil engineering design, contract management and construction monitoring\. + Must have at least 5 years' experience in large multi\-disciplinary engineering projects in the fields of water treatment and/or waste water treatment and civil infrastructure\. + At least 2 years hands\-on experience with management of contracts under FIDIC Conditions of Contract or similar\. **Preferred Qualifications** + Bachelor’s Degree \(BSc or BTech\) + Registered professional engineer / technologist + Various courses in contract management, claims handling, work scheduling software\. **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
