**Job Summary** As a part of our continued growth, our Winnipeg office has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to take a leadership role within our Buildings & Places business line\. The Buildings and Places Team is a vibrant and growing business line which delivers project management, architectural and engineering services as well as planning and economic analysis for vertical construction projects\.
In this role, the successful candidate will report to the local Manager of Electrical Engineering and will have the following responsibilities:
+ Contributes significantly to the successful design, production, coordination and management of institutional, commercial and light industrial projects
+ Develops power distribution, lighting and auxiliary systems designs
+ Communicates effectively with clients and internal team members in the design and specification development of institutional, commercial and light industrial building systems
+ Ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with QA/QC programs;
+ Ensure that engineering deliverables \(e\.g\., drawings, specifications, analysis\) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices;
+ Work closely with other discipline Engineers, Architects, Designers and Project Managers as a key team player within an integrated multi\-disciplinary project delivery team
+ Provides leadership and mentoring of technical staff\.
+ Works in the management and delivery of projects through effective scope definition, scheduling, resource allocation, quality management and financial management
+ Assists in the development of new project opportunities through proactive marketing and business development with new and existing clients
**Minimum Requirements** To be successful in this position you will need to have the following:
+ University Degree in Electrical Engineering \(Bachelor of Science or equivalent\)
+ Registered with APEGM as a Professional Engineer or other Professional engineering body in Canada
+ At least 15 years experience, preferably in institutional, commercial and light industrial projects
+ Working knowledge of applicable local and national building codes and common engineering software
+ Must have a well\-rounded background in institutional, commercial and industrial project design and delivery to meet various challenges
+ Understanding of related in building architectural, structural and mechanical design
+ Strong interpersonal communications skills applicable both internally with project delivery staff as well as externally with project partners \(clients, consultants, contractors and regulatory authorities\)
+ Experience working in a multi\-disciplinary team delivering various projects in complexity and size/scope
**Preferred Qualifications** Membership or accreditation in one or more of the following areas:
+ Sustainable design – LEED Accredited Professional
+ Lighting – Member of IES
+ Electrical Engineering – Member of IEEE
Familiarity in one or more of the following areas of electrical engineering:
+ Power Distribution
+ Lighting
+ Telecommunications systems
+ Life safety systems
Familiarity in one or more of the following areas of building engineering practice:
+ Government buildings \(police and corrections\)
+ Commercial office or retail
+ Institutional
+ Post secondary
+ Light Industrial
+ Recreation
