**About the Business Line** **Environment**
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\.
**Job Summary** The Biologist/Wetland Ecologist is responsible for performing technical work including general or focused biological surveys, performing field jurisdictional delineations of waters and wetlands, writing delineation reports, preparing permitting application packages, writing biological impact analyses for sections of CEQA or NEPA environmental documents \(EA, EIS, MND, EIR, etc\) and possibly stand\-alone technical reports \(NES, BTR, etc\.\)\. Additional duties may include assisting on habitat restoration projects, botanical surveys, listed species surveys, conservation plans, and habitat management plans, or assisting with field surveys associated with water quality monitoring\.
This position will involve some project and/or task\-level management\. He/she will be responsible for projects that involve innovative mitigation and conservation planning; multi\-disciplinary teamwork with biologists, planners, landscape architects, and restoration ecologists; and creative integration of natural resource analysis and project design\. This position works with a variety of clients and requires occasional travel\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Experience in biological survey fieldwork including data collection with GPS and dataloggers, experience conducting formal jurisdictional delineations is helpful\.
+ A background in wetland ecology and knowledge of permits and regulations of the waters of the U\.S\. and state of California and wetlands; experience with habitat restoration planning also desired\.
+ Knowledge of major state and federal agencies \(e\.g\., USACE, USFWS, BLM, BOR, CDFW, RWQCB, and CCC\) and major regulatory frameworks \(e\.g\., NEPA, CEQA, ESA, CESA, CFGC, CWA and CCA\)\.
+ Strong writing skills and experience completing jurisdictional delineation reports and preparing permit application packages \(including CWA Section 404/401, CFGC Section 1600\-1616, CCA Section 30600 CDP\), Mitigation and Monitoring Plans, Biological Assessments, EIR/EIS sections; and experience in agency consultations under Sections 7 and 10 of ESA and preparing associated documentation\.
+ The ability to work independently and as part of a team; be innovative and a problem solver\.
+ Familiarity with complex issues related to wetland ecology, watershed planning, ecological restoration, conservation planning, and/or natural resources planning\.
+ Also desired is the ability toparticipate in projects with a focus on urban stormwater management, watercourse restoration, low\-impact development \(LID\) design, and stormwater compliance, and experience withWater Quality Technical Reports, Drainage Reports, and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans\.
+ Play a supporting role in marketing and business development efforts in pursuit of new projects\.
+ Project management skills, including the ability to effectively manage schedule, staff, budget and finances\.
+ Prior consulting experience strongly preferred, but non\-consultant candidates with relevant experience will be considered\.
+ Experience in California is a must\. Experience in southwest U\.S\. is also favorable\.
**Preferred Qualifications** BS in Biology, environmental science, or related field and **5\-8 years** of professional experience, or advanced degree in biology, environmental science, law, or related field and **2\-6 years** of professional experience\.
