Job Description: The AECOM Morrisville Geotechnical/Solid Waste Group is seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer to be responsible for project management, design, analyses, permitting and construction phase services for projects related to dams and impoundments, solid waste disposal facilities, including coal combustion byproduct (CCB) ponds, leachate conveyance and treatment, stormwater management, spillways, trenchless technology, as well as commercial and industrial development projects. Responsible for identification and analyses of alternatives for temporary and permanent spillways, wastewater and slurry pumping systems, pipelines, dewatering, development of grading plans; solid waste disposal closure design; construction cost estimating; and project management. Additional responsibilities include report preparation, construction CQA/management activities, and routine client communications.
Other key activities will include:
• Work with a diverse team of Civil and Geotechnical Engineers in assessment, design, closure and construction of dams and solid waste disposal facilities;
• Prepare designs, specifications and construction documents;
• Apply engineering principles to develop effective solutions;
• Clearly and concisely communicate with the project team, regulatory staff, and client;
• Calculate cost and determine feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data, applying knowledge and techniques of engineering;
• Prepare or direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, and construction schedules for projects;
• Inspect construction site to monitor progress and assess conformance with engineering plans, specifications and construction standards;
• Apply knowledge of applicable health and safety requirements and environmental compliance and requirements.
