We provide services such as program management, construction management and owner’s representation to our clients around the globe\. **Job Summary** Will act as the programme\-based Safety, Health and Environmental Manager supporting all project specific SH&E activity\. Will report directly to the Project Manager on the Project, with functional responsibility to the SH&E Manager SA Central and the HS&E manager – Southern Arica\. Responsible for establishing, managing and monitoring compliance with ALSTOM and AECOM company and local safety regulations for the construction phases of the programme, including the safety of ALSTOM and AECOM project staff\. Responsible for the implementation of SH&E policy, procedures and processes and the subsequent management, monitoring, reporting and maintenance of compliance with these procedures\. Will develop and deliver site\-specific training modules to project staff and Contractors employees\. 99. To ensure that Safety, Health and Environment resources are managed in the best continuing interests of the company\. A broad understanding of the current skills and abilities in order to fully utilise the resources available\. Responding to unforeseen circumstances and taking appropriate action\. 99. To provide advice, guidance, and support to all personnel including Directors, Managers, Supervisors and engineers at all levels on all matters relating to Safety, Health and Environment in the workplace\. To implement the strategy for Safety, Health and Environmental compliance on site\. To set realistic objectives, goals and targets while enrolling all personnel into the process\. Maintain a culture that allows all individuals and teams to provide positive input into Safety, Health and Environment in their workplace\. 99. To develop and maintain excellent communications with all levels of staff providing advice, guidance, support and management assistance in a timely and quality manner\. Engage in active personal development while assisting project resources in their individual development\. 99. Communicating effectively with external colleagues \(Health & Safety and Environment Authorities, Local National and International Authorities, Clients representatives, Contractors etc\. ensuring a coordinated and compliant approach to Safety, Health and Environmental management\. 99. Manages and monitors policies, procedures, programs, standards, and design criteria affecting construction safety on site\. 99. Demonstrate a professional integrity and personal pride in producing excellent results\. Interact freely and effectively with all people, both internal and external to the company\. Working as a team player generating a professional and productive atmosphere\. 99. Determines cause of unsafe acts and conditions through procedure review, equipment and facilities inspection, and worker observation with corrective action recommendations provided\. 99. Participates in the investigation of site accidents and incidents\. 99. Manage develop and deliver SH&E training project Staff\. 99. Collects and analyses injury and safety survey statistical data to write technical reports and makes 99. presentations to site management and Client regarding performance\. Maintains compliance with governmental regulatory agencies\. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate or delegated by the Senior Project Manager, Regional SH&E Manager and Director of Safety, Health & Environment\. 99. Collects and analyses weekly and monthly reports, reviews and analyses all safety documentation submitted to AECOM representing ALSTOM as the Client\. Personal Attributes 99. Up to date knowledge of all issues relating to Safety, Health and Environment in South Africa 99. Ability to communicate in a practical manner at all levels of the organisation\. 99. Extensive knowledge of design, consultancy, construction, PMCM practices and how they interact across the construction process\. 99. Ability to innovatively plan ahead for future development of Safety, Health and Environment as the project progresses\. 99. Ability to manage, co\-ordinate and oversee a team of project safety resources employed by the various contractors\. Ability to participate in meetings with people at all levels of management both internally and externally\. Ability to design, develop and deliver training for all staff within region\. 99. Must work very closely with Client safety personnel associated with both the construction project and the existing operational facility\. Client liaison and the subsequent dissemination of the strategies and procedures derived from the liaison to the contractors will be a vital role in this appointment\. **Preferred Qualifications** Diploma or equivalent in Occupational Safety or in a related field\.
