Job Description: AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Survey CAD Technician for immediate employment for the Columbia, SC office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
• Exercises judgment in assessing common surveying and research-related situations, and uses effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions
• Determines scales, line sizes and colors to be used for hard copies of computerized maps using plotters
• Researches, processes and properly adjusts suitable horizontal and vertical control in support of project requirements
• Downloads, processes and troubleshoots raw field data files
• Maps planimetric and topographic field data using appropriate software
• Prepares in-house worksheet drawings for engineering support
• Prepares final drawings, including ALTA/ACSM, boundary, topographic and special purpose surveys
• Checks all layers of maps to ensure accuracy
