**Job Summary** The new AECOM offers the capabilities to design, build, finance, operate and maintain \(DBFOM\) infrastructure assets across a range of global markets\. Whether we serve clients at one phase of the project lifecycle or throughout it, our role is to apply creative vision, technical expertise, interdisciplinary insight, and diverse experience to address complex challenges in new and better ways\.
Working closely with the group chief executive, global programs, your role is to develop, identify and lead the origination and pursuit of large\-scale major infrastructure programs, primarily in developing and emerging markets, that will generate revenue for our end markets across the DBFOM platform\.
You will act as a key relationship stakeholder with various US and international government departments and independent governmental agencies advocating for favorable decisions to enable AECOM’s global business success\. He or she would also help manage activities and strategy with our internal government relations team as well as external partners\.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned state/federal and/or international government relations professional who commands instant credibility and possesses the gravitas to be effective with internal and external stakeholders\.

+ Development of a cohesive and competitive value proposition, leveraging AECOM’s existing portfolio of capabilities and current clients\.
+ Lead client relationship/business development activities through early interaction, “scope of work” development, interviews, and on\-going client maintenance interface\. Lead major pursuits\.
+ Frame, design and deliver winning proposals while shaping first class client solutions\.
+ Manage, cultivate and maintain effective relationships with external partners to ensure optimum value is obtained\.
+ Maintain strong relationships with assigned high profile client contacts/business partners and benchmark competitors\.
+ Stay current with client needs while proactively identifying and seeking to solve clients’ most challenging infrastructure related challenges\.
+ Appoint capture managers and teams for each pursuit and have management accountability for all pursuits\. Provide leadership to business development and key account managers in developing win strategies, go\-no\-go plans and closing sales\.
+ Maintain direct accountability for the success of all relevant engagements as judged by the following elements: client satisfaction, project goal achievement, and development of long\-term, “institutional” client relationships\.
+ Collaborate across the end market group and DCS organisations globally to implement key initiatives, investments and strategies for growth and practice\- development; obtain new project work; lead thought leadership and create profitability\.
+ Serve as an ambassador for the end markets as well as the broader AECOM business\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ 20\+ years’ progressive experience working for large complex organisations \(public and private sector\) with extensive exposure to major infrastructure projects or programs\.
+ Significant experience in political and legislative activity and policy development; well\-developed strategic planning, policy analysis, management, organizational development\.
+ Executive presence to support key relationships within domestic/international governments, coupled with a detailed analysis of AECOM’s positioning with these clients and strategies to rapidly increase market share\.
+ Demonstrated ability to identify business opportunities, lead project engagements, attract new business, and build lasting professional relationships with senior client executives as well as relevant experience in project management and the full life\-cycle of a project\.
+ Mix of business savvy, industry experience and regulatory/legislative familiarity to facilitate translation of client agenda into revenue generation opportunity\.
+ Ability to develop key and trusted client relationships that can lead to new business quickly\.
+ Demonstrated skills and track record in marketing and business development, including market strategy development, competitive assessment, market positioning and market strategy execution\.
+ Commercial acumen, delivering complex and demanding solutions to our clients\.
+ Superior interpersonal skills including relationship building and communication at all levels and work collaboratively across the organisation; listening to other points of view while still being persuasive\.
+ Demonstrable teambuilding and influencing skills; unquestioned integrity; and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address major client needs and challenges\.
+ Industry reputation – demonstrated expertise and success in leading captures and proposals in the services sector – with established relationships with users, key decision makers, and acquisition officials/leads in the government community\.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, preferably technical, is essential\. Post graduate business qualifications are preferred\.
