**Job Summary**
AECOM’s Planning \+ Economics is one of the leading consultancy teams in the UK working on economics and development, with high profile projects including: High Speed 2; Crossrail 2; Thames Tideway Tunnel; industrial land research for the GLA; Anglesey Energy Island framework; and a wider range of development frameworks for mixed use and infrastructure schemes\. We are looking for a person to join our team to play a key role in developing and building on our work\.
1\. Responsible as part of the Planning \+ Economics team at AECOM for helping to win and delivery projects in the UK and overseas covering:
\- planning policy research \(e\.g\. employment land, strategic infrastructure, housing land availability\)
\- planning strategy
\- development frameworks, and
\- neighbourhood planning for a range of private and public sector clients\.
It would also be helpful to have knowledge and experience of work in one or more of the following areas: property market research and modelling \(e\.g\. covering retail impact assessments and/or housing market research\); business planning and feasibility studies; economic and socio\-economic impact assessments of infrastructure and development schemes; regeneration strategies and local economic development and sectoral strategies; and evaluations\.
2\. Responsible to a project director for managing small sized projects or undertake a significant technical role as part of an integrated project team on large, multi\-disciplinary planning and urban development projects
3\. Proactive in being client focused, understanding the needs of the project and offering high quality, professional town planning and related advice\.
4\. Provide support on business development efforts and develop business awareness through resource and project management\. Over time develop a project management role in business development and work\-winning\.
5\. Committed to continuing professional development and career progression and encouraging others to do the same\. We will support you and invest in you through our career development and leadership potential programmes\.
6\. Provide guidance to junior staff within studio and over time start to manage junior and graduate staff\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ 1\. A track record in planning policy and planning frameworks, \(and work in economics and regeneration is also helpful\)
2\. A portfolio of work which demonstrates excellent technical capabilities \(literacy and numeracy\)\.
3\. A track record of contributing to innovative economics, regeneration and development planning solutions\. Experience of key client relationships and management\.
4\. Analytic and numerical skills, ideally including spreadsheet modelling \(desirable rather than essential\)\.
5\. A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills and ability to work in a consultancy environment, for example covering effectively dealing with client relationships and working to tight deadlines\.
6\. A team player who can work as part of wide project teams – making high\-quality technical contributions\. Helps support the building of the team and the internal relationship\.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ A degree in town planning, geography, property surveying, economics, or a related discipline and an MSc/MBA/equivalent qualification in a similar field, or overall equivalent experience
