Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., environmental science, soil science, agriculture, wetlands management, geology or any earth science related field)
• Minimum two years of data collection, data review and preparation of scientific documents (work performed in graduate school may satisfy this requirement)
• Or demonstrated ability and / or experience
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills
• Knowledge of Section 401/404 permitting, wetland delineation, environmental assessments, technical reports, and mitigation requirements
• Must be able to travel regularly and be in the field
• Valid driver's license required
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Job Description: The successful candidate will work in an interdisciplinary team-oriented environment. This position will support the AECOM Cincinnati Ecology Department in accomplishing a wide variety of projects including environmental permitting, utility siting and licensing, environmental inspection, and many others.
Responsibilities of the Environmental Scientist may include, but are not limited to:
• Wetland delineation reports, function assessments, mitigation plans, and environmental compliance/permitting documents
• Stream, wetland and wildlife habitat assessments
• Monitoring, wetland and stream projects
• Preparing biological evaluations/assessments preparing EIS and EAs and proposals, and managing projects
