Requisition Number: IE103786 Interest Category: Operations & Maintenance Interest Sub Category: Technician/ Field Services Job Title : UXO Tech II Employment Category/Status: full-time Type of Position: Temporary Country: U.S. State: Various Locations City: Various Locations Minimum Requirements: In accordance with Department of Defense Explosive Safety Board technical publication 18 (DDESB TP-18), UXO Technician II shall have: Graduate of an EOD assistant course or an accredited UXO technician training course with three years of experience or military EOD school of the US, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, or Australia 40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER training course completed and a valid driver's license Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test Job Description: Field assignments may be CONUS/OCONUS. In addition to being able to fully perform all of the UXOTI responsibilities in accordance with Department of Defense Explosive Safety Board technical publication 18 (DDESB TP-18), an UXO Technician II's responsibilities may include the following: Properly store explosive materials per applicable guidance. Inspect MPPEH for the presence of explosives safety hazards. Determine precise location in field environment using a variety of techniques such as use of global positioning equipment, or basic land navigation techniques using topographical map and compass. Perform field collection procedures to identify contaminated soil. Perform limited technical supervision of UXOSP. Prepare an on-site holding area to temporarily stow MEC that has an acceptable risk of movement. Operate modes of transportation for transporting UXO, for which the risk of movement has been determined acceptable, when appropriate. Escort personnel who are not directly involved in UXO-related operations (e.g., personnel performing environmental monitoring), but have activities to perform within exclusion areas.
