AECOM’s Global Support Services \(GSS\) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs\. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere\. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world\. GSS supports the U\.S\. Government, non\-U\.S\. **Job Summary**
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced **FSS/HVAC Mechanic** to join the MOSC\-A in Afghanistan\. Performs troubleshooting, installation, repairs and refills FSS system on a wide range of Military equipment\. Performs HVAC troubleshooting, recovery, recharge, and installation as required\. Performs mechanical troubleshooting and repair work on a wide range of Military equipment\. Performs refilling of FM\-200, Monoammonium\-Phosphate, Sodium Bicarbonate, and Petrotech 25 fire extinguishing agents\. Responsible for implementing and maintaining the shop safety program as well as providing daily work assignments to
other maintenance personnel assigned to work center\. Performs any other duties as assigned\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ High school diploma or GED is required\.
+ Must have active NACI\.
+ EPA 609 certification in vehicle HVAC recovery, recharge and installation or equivalent required\.
+ 1\-3 years of FSS and/or HVAC experience\.
+ Must have a basic understanding of HAZMAT and OSHA procedures\.
+ FSS and HVAC repair and use of job specific tools\.
+ Be responsible for rebuilding, inspecting, and testing the serviceability of certain fire extinguisher components by the technical specifications given by the manufacturer\.
+ Be proficient in the proper handling of hazardous materials such as, heptafluoropropane \(FM\-200\), Monoammonium\-phosphate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Petrotech 25, and dry nitrogen\.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively during a 77 hour work week\.
+ Experience with fire suppression systems preferred\.
+ Ability to climb and work in tight spaces\.
+ Ability to lift 25 Lbs\. continuously, 50 Lbs intermittently\.
+ Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures\.
+ Ability to work overhead for extended periods\.
+ Ability to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions\.
