More information on AECOM and its services can be found at www\.aecom\.com\. **About the Business Line** **Water** We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design\-build\. **Job Summary** We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Coastal Specialist to join our well\-established and knowledgeable Coastal team in our centrally located Basingstoke office\. Our involvement extends through all stages of the project life\-cycle from feasibility to construction\. Following our delivery of the award\-winning coastal flood and erosion risk management strategy for the City of Southampton, we have taken the lead in developing the design of flood defences for tidal sections of the River Itchen\. Our successful delivery and implementation of coastal strategies, parlicularly along the south coast, has led to us becoming recognised as market leaders in this field\. We are currently engaged in the delivery of coastal stategies for the west coast of the Isle of Wight and the coastline between the River Hamble and Portchester Castle in the Eastern Solent\. Similar to our work in Southampton, the next phase will focus on the further development of scheme options\. As a Senior Coastal Specialist you will have the following responsibilities: • The delivery of our coastal management and strategy workload\. • Utilising your understanding of coastal processes, flood risk, climate change, option appraisal/economic assessment, stakeholder/public consultation, alternative funding initiatives and the delivery of broader outcomes for schemes\. • Project Management of a variety of Coastal projects and schemes both locally and nationally, to include resource/programme/commercial and financial management\. • Presenting cases for project funding support to the EA’s LPRG\. • Working as part of a larger multi\-disciplinary team when necessary\. • Leading teams and overseeing design and planning processes, undertaking concept through to detailed design\. • Production of technical materials, tenders and reports\. • Strategic coastal planning and management, coastal and tidal flooding, coastal protection and defence structures, coastal erosion and land stabilisation\. • Assisting with growing the Coastal team and their skills base whilst also mentoring and developing our staff\. • Business development\. **Minimum Requirements** • Significant relevant experience covering the preparation of feasibility reports, project appraisals and delivery of coastal management studies\. • An in\-depth understanding of coastal processes, flood risk, climate change, option appraisal/economic assessment, stakeholder/public consultation, alternative funding initiatives and the delivery of broader outcomes for schemes will be essential\. • Self\-motivated and resourceful with a can\-do attitude and excellent communication skills\. • Ability to represent AECOM at client and stakeholder meetings and workshops\. • Ability to deliver projects and manage multi\-disciplinary project teams\. • Experience of flood alleviation schemes \(tidal and fluvial\) would be an advantage\. **Preferred Qualifications** • Degree educated or equivalent in Civil / Environmental / Coastal Engineering or Geography / a similar equivalent\. • Masters degree in Coastal Management desirable\. • Member of CIWEM, ICE or other\. **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
