Cisco certifications (CCNP desired) -or- Juniper Certifications (JNCIP desired). • IP Devices (Desirable): Routers/Switches (Cisco and/or Juniper), Firewalls (Sidewinder), Network encryption equipment (KIV/KG), Call Manager, Gateways, WCF suites, Session Border Controllers, IP SatCom (Idirect, ViaSAT), Aggregation Services Routers (Cisco ASR9000). • Transport Devices: Multiplexers (ADTRAN MX2800), MSPP (MultiService Provisioning Platform/Cisco ONS-15454/15310), ODXC (Optical Digital Cross Connect / Sycamore SN9000/SN16000), OTS (Optical Transport System / Ciena 6500 / CoreStream), DATMS (Ericsson/Marconi ASX1000, TNX1100, ASX4000), Timeplex CX1500, NET Promina 400/800/8000/NX1000, Timing and Synchronization (Symmetricom/TruTime) Strong writtten communication skills are required. GTMS/ITSM Remedy: -- Understands the customer relationship tool which can be used to log/monitor the issues or problems faced by customers by the means of incident management tickets. -- Supports team members in taking ownership of tickets and updates the Action/Work log (troubleshooting steps performed during the selected course of action). Required Clearance: Secret (minimum) Job Description: AECOM is seeking a Network Administrator to support our customer located at Scott AFB, IL. Serve as a Network Controller Intermediate level responsible for managing, monitoring and troubleshooting the classified and non-classified IP and Transport Networks consisting of Cisco and Juniper routers, Optical cross-connect platforms, Multi service provisioning platforms, IP and ATM switches, fiber/copper connectivity, Sun workstations, and miscellaneous network equipment. Responsibilities/Requirements: • Troubleshoot and restore to service components of the IP and Transport Network. • Familiar performing within a fixed price, performance-based environment where performance is based on pre-determined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) or Acceptable Levels of Performance (ALPs). • Prepare required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation- Interface with functional users as well as remote operations centers in both routine and reactive monitoring situations. • Maintains logs and records associated with reported problems or situations within their realm of responsibility. • Performs fault isolation and diagnostic/assessment functions to include: determination and execution of corrective action(s) on a real-time basis. • Follow escalation policy • Monitor security posture of the IP Network and report any suspected violations to designated authority • This includes performing pro-active monitoring of network element alarms and alerts to identify those components/elements that may lead to or already are causing network degradation or failure. • Executes all reporting functions and data input associated with network management. • Performs operator level maintenance on all components/assets associated with network • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Junos certification desired • Must be knowledgeable on the following Network Management Systems: Remedy, HP OpenView, Silvx, Cisco Prime Optical, Netcool, INMS and associated assets. • Familiar with network encryption devices to include SafeNet NSA Type I and Type III.
