**Job Summary** AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented **Senior Operations Manager** to provide strong and confident leadership to the Northern Alberta Transportation group\.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Acquisition, professional development, engagement and retention of employees within Northern Alberta Transportation
+ Assigns employees to projects and ensures, directly and through subordinates, that technical work is completed in accordance with contract scope of work and budget, and to company, professional, quality, and legislative standards
+ Responsible for regular business progress reports to the Western Canada Mountain States Business Unit Leader – Transportation
+ Demonstrates creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual project delivery, technical and client challenges, determining technical objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for technical activities and applications
+ Acts as advisor to clients and other departments on technical and business line issues
+ Stays abreast of industry standards and approaches, and implements best practices
+ Actively participates in professional associations related to the business line, staying at the forefront of professional and technical standards, serving as a champion of advancing the profession and developing and recruiting employees in the business line
+ Client relationship management, ensuring project delivery meets with client expectations
+ Defining and continuously refining the future growth and direction of the team
+ Growing the group’s business base and revenues
+ Building and developing a solid and successful group of professionals
+ Engage, hands\-on, in the technical execution of client assignments through to successful project completion
+ With a spirit of inclusion, coach and mentor the Northern Alberta Transportation group ensuring that client teams have access to staff with the latest technical knowledge and are able to deliver solutions, meeting or exceeding client expectations
+ Apply strategic insight and operational planning to ensure that the goals and objectives of the Northern Alberta Transportation group are aligned with those at the Area and market sector levels
+ Continue to strengthen the market leadership position of the Transportation group across Northern Alberta and Western Canada Mountain States District
+ Effectively coordinate and collaborate with other Transportation Operations Managers and market sector leaders across Western Canada / Mountain States Area in:
- Developing future goals and strategies for the Northern Alberta Transportation group
- Participating in key sector and corporate initiatives; and offering the best possible services to clients \(both internal and external\) with safety and quality as key project inclusions
+ Effectively work in partnership and collaborate with other business lines within the Western Canada / Mountain States Area to promote the growth and sustainability of AECOM’s business in the Area
Key Performance Indicators: Quality, project performance and margins, scope/budget compliance, cash collection, utilization, employee acquisition/development/engagement/retention, technical training provided, Safety, Health & Environment \(SH&E\), client satisfaction\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Registered as a professional engineer in Alberta or eligible for registration
+ Keen business acumen coupled with strong business development experience
+ Solid technical skills in one of the practice areas of transportation – highways, bridges, transportation planning, freight rail, transit developed within a professional services environment, ideally with consulting engineering experience
+ Exceptional client care and service delivery skills
+ Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with a dedication to developing lasting client partnerships \(internally and externally\)
+ Maximizing employee engagement through fostering an inclusive and supportive team environment, implementing and supporting company\-wide HR programs and initiatives as required
+ An energetic and enthusiastic coach and mentor driven by diverse and challenging projects, with an ability to recognize and develop talent

+ Excellent communication skills
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Degree in Civil Engineering
+ 15\+ years of experience
