The candidate will be part of the Intermodal Systems Development group, working on a wide variety of projects and providing technical expertise in the areas of Transportation Planning and Traffic Analysis. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: • Participate in transportation planning assignments including micro-simulation, travel demand forecasting, corridor studies, safety studies, traffic and revenue studies and interchange justification/modification reports • Convert travel demand modeling results from Cube Voyager to Design Hour Volume (DHV) and turning movements for analysis • Translate traffic engineering analysis results for preparation of graphics by others • Prepare Traffic Technical Memorandums for Project Development and Environment (PD&E) studies • Prepare Typical Section, Equivalent Single Axle Loads (ESAL) and Lane Closure analysis memorandums for design projects • Perform Development Regional Impacts (DRI) reviews for the feasibility and soundness of the proposed DRI and to verify that applicable engineering standards and practices are being met • Collect traffic data in the field when needed • Coordinate with other technical disciplines including conceptual design, environmental management, traffic operations, right of way and others EOE M/F/Disability/Veteran
